A small business’s metal door that rubs or sometimes latches and sometimes does not needs an orderly inspection, not an improvised adjustment. The symptom may involve the door leaf, frame, hinges, latch, or strike plate, and more than one issue may be present. Before arranging an inspection, check only the door’s normal operation, with its path clear, without forcing it, and while the entrance can be supervised.

Describe the rubbing rather than trying to diagnose it: state whether the leaf touches at the top, bottom, or one side; whether it occurs while opening, closing, or both; and whether it changes when the leaf is gently pushed or pulled. Also look at whether the gaps between the leaf and frame appear even along the door. For the latch, note whether it reaches the strike plate, hits before entering, enters but springs back, or engages only when the door is lifted, pushed, or held. Do not try to correct it by loosening hinges, filing the strike plate, propping the leaf, or using force. Those actions can worsen sagging, damage the closing system, or leave the premises inadequately secured.

Do not work on electrical components. Do not remove covers or handle wiring, power supplies, electric strikes, entry phones, access controls, sensors, or automation; do not bypass a locking system to keep the door open. If there is a door closer or an emergency-exit device, do not alter its setting as a test. A professional inspection can establish whether the fault is mechanical, alignment-related, or part of a system that needs another specialist.

When reporting the issue, provide the address and exact entrance, when it began, the opening and closing symptom, whether the latch engages, and any visible damage. Share photographs only when they do not reveal keys, codes, floor plans, or sensitive information. Authorization should come from the business owner or a person designated by them; an employee may report the fault but should not authorize an alteration without that authority. If the door belongs to the building or affects a shared area, also confirm who represents the property or building community.

To arrange an inspection properly, share the access point and any loading or parking restrictions, without turning local roads into a promise about arrival time. Rubí City Council lists the AP-7 and C-16 among the town’s road connections on its location and access page. If there is smoke, fire, a trapped person, an immediate risk to someone, or a rescue situation, call 112; the Government of Catalonia explains when to use 112.

If a door rubs or has excess play, read the Arenys de Munt alignment-check guide. To arrange an inspection, see the Rubí locksmith service. You may also call or use WhatsApp, stating the type of door, the rubbing observed, the latch behaviour, and who authorizes the work.
